Summary: @Cubeoctahedron designed and developed the information website Etherspot.io to help promote and educate individuals regarding the new one stop transaction platform for all things Defi. https://etherspot.io/ The website is thorough, well designed and easy to use. The governance intends to reward @Cubeoctahedron for his initiative and hard work on Etherspot.io.

Abstract: The DAO will reward @Cubeoctahedron 20,000 PLR no later than June 1, 2021 for his work on the website Etherspot.io. At the current UDS rate that is approximately $1,214 USD. The community has discussed this on a few weekly governance calls and is in favor of rewarding these efforts.

Motivation: The work has already been completed, we are simply compensating @Cubeoctahedron for the initiative and work that has already been done.

Specification: The community will have some discussion regarding timing and amount of the reward. The post will move from an Idea to a Proposal in which the community will finalize their decisions before bringing it to a vote.

Your argument is correct and I agree with it. However, I believe a compromise should be made regarding this since I doubt anyone from the community will disagree with it. In the future these kinds of actions will be rewarded only if the community actually agreed with them. While @Cubeoctahedron’s actions might have gone unnoticed by some and hasn’t had a proper community vote, I believe the reward for this should still go as an exception to the rule that will stand in the future.

Motivation for this action is to encourage community assistance with similar or different matters if it is an official request made by the Pillar Governance.

Thanks Tranquillo . You are one of these guys that bring good vibes in the community and i appreciate this :+1: . It s ok to improve the system and give point of view … Anyway in a community you will have all kinds of dudes . I don t target specifically Nova , but will always have guys that want to exist with essentially criticize others that really give value

I don’t see this as setting any precedent at all. The work was done through an individual’s own initiative and motivation. After the work was completed several community members saw great value in it and decided rewarding the initiative would be a good idea. My personal hope would be that this could spark others with talents to share those talents with the community. If we have video professionals, meme makers, people who produce commercials it would be wonderful if they decided to share those talents.

Why was this done? This was done to promote Etherspot and inform the public of it’s utility. According to Forbes, it is important for businesses to have websites to: (1) increase credibility, (2) showcase your brand, (3) find potential leads, (4) generate organic traffic, (5) a central place for updates and announcements 24/7 (6) good customer service. Why was he originally doing this for free? This is a talented community member sharing their talents.

How does this impact Pillar? This overlaps with the first question, why was this done. This benefits Pillar by providing a central place for updates and announcements, to provide educational information to the public as to what Etherspot is and how it works, finding potential leads and providing credibility.

How much time was spent? I am unsure of the exact amount of time spent on the site; however, this is relative to someone’s experience and expertise. You could get the same website from two different people, one spending 100 hours and one spending 10 hours. According to Wordpress, it can take up to 14 weeks to design and launch a website. How much were we looking to pay him? This should be further discussed by the community. When I submitted the idea I chose 20,000 PLR because, at the current USD rate, it’s the cheapest going rate for creating a website, about $1200 USD.

How do we tell he did a good job? The community needs to review the website. It’s informative and concise. If you are suggesting that some rubric should be designed to determine if the site is “good” we could do that.

If he originally was doing this for free how does it benefit Pillar to pay him for something he wasn’t looking to get paid for. The payment is really a community reward for his initiative and work. This community member decided to work on this without being asked, that’s initiative. Rewarding such efforts might inspire others to share their talents as well as encourage this particular community member to continue their great work.

I disagree, this action does not set a precedent. I’m confused by your statement “In the future these kinds of actions will be rewarded only if the community actually agreed with them.” People definitely don’t need to wait on the community to agree with them to take action. If you want to create content then you should create content. If the community finds that content valuable I see no reason not to reward people after the fact. Could you please explain your meaning here?

Also, one person does not make a community. If the community is against this action then more people should say so.

Definitively a good experience for all of us . What i would say is that we should make a difference btw PAY and REWARD . When someone will add value , make something good for the project i will not have the feeling to pay him but to REWARD him. Totally different. I read comment of Nova that he will maybe make video on pillar or something that could help . I will be very happy to propose to REWARD him for this contribution to the community.

I think the Pillar team should have control of the site and assets before giving Cube tokens, but I would definitely vote yes on this, the site looks good.

Actually I think this idea has been eliminated. I don’t think there was enough support to begin with but I really have no idea.
