Resource sharing channel with monthly rewards

Hi Governors and members Of Pillar DAO

Here’s an idea for adding value to the Discord community with a PLR giveaway aspect to it.
If it gets enough support we can carry it through as a proposal.

I’ve been considering the idea of creating a new community Discord channel where members can post informative resources that assist all of our users to get the best out of their crypto journey in general.

Things like, but not limited to, new investing opportunities, portfolio tracking tools (for tax for example), or other useful guides that you feel are indispensable. I’m sure you guys have some sparkly gems stashed away.

Not only will this provide me with info on what kind of products & resources our community is interested in, but I see it helping in the following areas too:

  • Provide us with a deeper understanding of our ideal users and what content they consume/ sites they visit which gives me interest and targeting info for paid ad audiences.

  • Gives the community a valuable resource to draw from and should increase engagement on Discord.

The idea for the rewards is that each month the best/most useful content is judged by the number of likes, hearts, emojis, etc. and the person who posted is rewarded with PLR in their Pillar V2 Smart Wallet.

  • These could also be a source of inspiration for potential content for Pillar Stories that we know will be valuable to users.

What do you guys think?
Any thoughts/ suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for the great idea Kyle - but I strongly feel we should just make the current Pillar discord better. Not start a new one. Why can’t this be done in the current discord? That said, I’d like to see all your ideas for growth first and then let the governors rank them by priority. Even if not in forum at least a survey. This new discord might not rate that high. As far as resources go - I’d like to see a big bag of ā€œHow toā€ blog posts for using Pillar’s multichain products peppered with awesome SEO keywords. I’d like to see profiles of Pillar v2 users. I want to feel FOMO for how other DeFi users are using the Pillar wallet so that I can learn from them and copy them or show my friends and clients what is possible.

Hey @Bitcuriousmom , to be clear, I’m not suggesting starting a new Discord server for Pillar.
My idea is to make a new channel, or perhaps the word topic is better, inside of the existing server.

In terms of what I’m up to, I’m currently getting to grips with and reviewing all the existing platforms like Google Analytics, Google Ads, Firebase, Google Tag Manager, etc. I’m also working on user profiles which is a huge amount of research.

Then the idea is to map out effective user journey funnels that keep the users focused on our desired CTA (call to action).

As soon as I’ve achieved what I proposed in my application for the role, I will be happy to set up a pole of ideas that govs can vote on in terms of priority.

Yes, I agree that your idea of ā€œhow toā€ blog posts is a good one. But perhaps some videos may be better than blogs? Pablo makes such great videos that are easy to follow. That’s what prompted me to get involved in the early UNISWAP LP.

Shall we start a list of videos we think would be useful? I’m sure Pablo would appreciate the input.
